*The Senate is attempting measures to end the government shutdown. A funding initiative passed by a 60-to-40 vote Sunday night that would end the government shutdown and agree to a vote on healthcare subsidies. Georgia Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock were not among those that supported the agreement. The bill now heads to the House for final passage before going to President Trump’s desk for his signature.
*Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Cartersville. Officers say a boy died after he was shot on Weaver Street early Sunday morning. Neighbors told FOX5 that the shooting happened at a birthday party. The victim was said to be 17 years old.
*The Georgia Department of Human Resources announcing Sunday evening it plans to issue partial SNAP benefits for November to eligible recipients. They’ll get up to 65% of their regular SNAP benefit amount – based on household income and applicable deductions. DHS says SNAP recipients whose due dates are past will get their benefits by Tuesday. All other SNAP benefits will go out on the usual schedule for the rest of November.
