Good News at Noon announces new Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Good News at Noon has named Steve Nissley as the non-profit’s Executive Director. Nissley was hired as the Ministry’s Assistant Executive Director in January of 2023 and has served as the interim Executive Director since August.  He comes to Gainesville from Tallahassee, Fla., where he served as a church pastor. He succeeds Ken Gossage who resigned earlier this year after six years on the job.

According to Board Chair Tim West, the decision was an easy one. “Steve has shown exemplary leadership qualities throughout this process and has us positioned well for continued success in 2026 and beyond,” West said. “He enjoys the full confidence of our Board of Directors and staff.”

Recently, Good News at Noon and North Georgia Works announced The Unity Project, a partnership focused on serving and empowering the homeless.  The Unity Project, a collaboration of some 30 local ministries and service providers, and in cooperation with the City of Gainesville, has established a Tier 1 Homeless Shelter that provides efficient access to services through other agency partnerships.

Good News at Noon offers resident lodging and a clothing closet. The resident space has room for 20 women and 40 men. Good News at Noon continues to help not only the transitional residents but also the homeless who come to the center for the Daily Devotion, meals, a shower and more.
