Gibbs wants 2 or 3 hearings on location for new courthouse

Hall County Commission Chairman David Gibbs said Monday he wants the county to hold “two or three” public hearings on the location of the new county courthouse.

Gibbs commented during the commission’s work session after two men spoke to the board and said that they had been approached by a representative from the county about purchasing their property for the new courthouse, and if they did not agree that the county would take their property by eminent domain.”

To that, Gibbs responded that “since the cat is out of the bag” he wants to schedule two or three public meetings on the location.
