Bend Bioscience, a U.S.‑based pharmaceutical company, held a ceremonial groundbreaking recently to mark the start of a 28,000-square-foot expansion of its Gainesville plant.
This milestone also reflects Bend Bioscience’s broader commitment to workforce development in the region, including its apprenticeship partnership with Lanier Technical College and efforts to invest in local talent, a news release from the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) says.
The plant, located on Gould Drive near the Free Chapel North location, specialize in producing oral solid dosage forms of drugs, particularly modified release, multiparticulates, and coating, according to the company website.
The chamber news release did not mention how many, if any, additional jobs the planned expansion would create. Asked at mid-day Wednesday if she knew, a spokeswoman said she was trying to find out.
