The Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded $110,000 in youth literacy grants to Georgia nonprofit organizations, libraries and schools which the foundation says will “positively” impact the lives of about 9,000 people.

Jefferson: Piedmont Regional Library System – $3,000
Demorest: Piedmont University – $3,000
These grants aim to support schools, public libraries, and nonprofit organizations within a 15-mile radius of a Dollar General store or distribution center in implementing new literacy initiatives or expanding existing ones.
