Automatic voter registration could be on the chopping block in the next Georgia General Assembly.
The AJC reports GOP lawmakers are looking to consider getting rid of the initiative that registers a voter when they get their driver’s license.
Part of the reasoning reportedly stems back to felons who attempt to register, which must be reported to prosecutors.
A House election committee will be meeting this fall to narrow down priorities for next year’s legislative session.
