Ga. colleges victims of active shooter hoaxes

 At least three colleges in Georgia reported calls about threats on campus Friday night, a trend that authorities say is becoming all too often around the country. Spate of hoax calls about active shooters stir fear at college campuses around the US – SRN News

Friday, the University of Georgia, the University of West Georgia, and Clarke Atlanta University all fielded reports of active shooters on campus, but all turned out to be bogus.

The hoaxes and false alarms have hit at least a dozen college campuses nationwide.

On Monday alone, law enforcement responded to calls claiming active shooters at Arkansas, Northern Arizona University, Iowa State, Kansas State, the University of Colorado-Boulder and the University of New Hampshire. More calls were made Tuesday at the University of Kentucky, West Virginia University and Central Georgia Technical College.
