Final plans for Carter services; Fireworks reminder

*The Carter Center has announced official services for former President Jimmy Carter. Carter who died at 100 Sunday will begin this Saturday in Plains with a brief service followed by a motorcade transport to Carter Center where the president will lie in repose till next Tuesday. That morning Carter will be flown to Washington, D.C. where he will lie in state at the Nation’s Capitol. On Thursday the 9th there will be a morning service for the 39th president at the Washington National Cathedral, afterward Carter will then be flown back to South Georgia for an afternoon service at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, with a private burial service to follow at the Carter home.  

*It’s New Year’s Eve and here’s a reminder about the use of fireworks in Georgia: It is legal to use them tonight until one hour past midnight.
