Fighting back

Educators across the state of Georgia are fighting back on the Trump administration’s directive to cancel DEI programs in schools.

Former Georgia teacher of the year, Tracey Nance, tells Atlanta News First she wants educators to defy the directive.  And Georgia NAACP President Gerald Griggs says his organization strongly condemns the cancelation of DEI initiatives in schools. It has filed a lawsuit and add the rollback of DEI is an attack on the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement.

School districts stand to lose more than a billion (B) dollars in federal funding if they don’t comply with the new directive. They have until Thursday to decide.
