The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) Pet Adoption and Resource Center (PARC) is using inmate labor to assist in keeping the center clean.
It’s a new program that allows qualified inmates from the Forsyth County Jail to be taken daily to PARC to assist staff with cleaning kennels and for both dogs and cats.
Supervised by a deputy, these inmates are working behind the scenes to ensure the animals have a clean and safe environment.
“This doesn’t just benefit the animals and staff at the PARC,” a news release says, “but the inmates are learning a skill they can take with them when they are released from custody.”
