Three people were arrested recently, two on drug distribution charges among other things, during two traffic stops by Flowery Branch Police.
FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPT. (FBPD) NEWS RELEASES:
“(Saturday an officer) conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Patriot after observing the vehicle making an illegal turn. The vehicle was by two individuals at the time of the stop.
Following further investigation, the driver, Marques Ewing, 44, of Atlanta…was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, open container of alcohol, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
The passenger, Terry Antonio Merchant, 45, of Riverdale, Georgia, was also taken custody and charged with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects…
“(Also Saturday) an officer conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan van for a defective equipment violation. The driver was identified as Raymond Lewellyn Hackett, 48, of Jonesboro, Georgia.
During the course of the investigation, the officer determined that Mr. Hackett was in possession of more than two ounces of marijuana along with multiple drug-related items. Mr. Hackett was taken into custody without incident.
He has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and operating a vehicle with a defective tag light.”
