FBPD: Fugitive shoplifter arrested

A Fulton County man Flowery Branch Police (FBPD) had been looking for since a week before Christmas was arrested Thursday.

FBPD NEWS RELEASE:

*On December 16…an Investigator with the Flowery Branch Police
Department responded to a local retail store located in the 5800 block of
Spout Springs Road in reference to a theft.

The field investigation uncovered that the suspect, Alvaro Alvarez Guzman, 41, of Roswell…
committed the offense of Theft by Shoplifting…by walking out of the store
with a Dewalt power tool, passing all points of sale, without showing any
intent to purchase the item. Once he was identified, a warrant was granted
for his arrest.

…Thursday Mr. Guzman was taken into custody in Gwinnett County on his outstanding warrant. He was later transported to the Hall County Detention Center to face his charges.”

Bond was set at $5,700, according to a spokeswoman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

Though the value of the merchandise was not disclosed by police, sheriff’s office records show that the charge against him is Theft by Shoplifting (over $500).
