Special tax and school bond referendums easily passed Tuesday in Jackson and Lumpkin counties and Commerce. And Pendergrass elected a new mayor.
In Jackson County, an extension of the Education Special Purposed Local Option Sales Tax (E-SPLOST) passed with 76% of the voters says “yes.” A school bond referendum was approved by 74% of the voters. And, in Commerce, a school bond was approved but by a smaller margin – 58% to 42%.
In the Lumpkin County vote, the E-SPLOST passed 831-384.
