Five people are hospitalized after a significant carbon monoxide leak at Residence Inn hotel, located on Peachtree in Downtown Atlanta. Atlanta Fire Assistant Cheif Greg Gray says five people, including two children were taken to Grady Hospital. Dozens of other people were evacuated from the hotel. The cause of the leak remains under investigation.

A high-rise building in Atlanta is being evacuated due to a “significant” carbon monoxide leak

Emergency crews responded to the Residence Inn by Marriott on Peachtree Street and found one adult and two children semi-conscious on the 20th floor.

Officials say they are dealing with multiple medical emergencies due to the two-alarm leak and medical teams are on-site coordinating help by prioritizing the condition of those affected and working to stabilize and evacuate people.

WSB-TV reports officials are advising non-essential personnel to avoid the area while emergency teams work to address the situation. No cause for the leak has been released at this time.
