*A middle Georgia county is putting a hold on data center applications. WMAZ reports the Monroe County commission voted yesterday to impose a moratorium on the applications while they work on altering zoning rules.
*Prison officials in have scheduled an execution later this month for a man convicted of fatally shooting two real estate agents in Powder Springs 20 years ago. Stacey Humphreys is scheduled to be put to death at 7 p.m. on Dec. 17, according to the Department of Corrections. Humphreys was convicted of malice murder in the 2003 killings of 33-year-old Cyndi Williams and 21-year-old Lori Brown. (SRN NEWS/AP)
*The sale of a coastal Georgia home is likely the largest on record in the state. The 12-thousand-500-square-foot residence on Sea Island designed by architect John Portman just sold on Tuesday for $30-million. An associate broker with Sotheby’s told the AJC that it’s been confirmed the amount is the most ever paid for a home in the Peach State. The residence includes a library, bar, water features throughout and an elevator.
*A federal judge has ordered Georgia to continue providing hormone therapy to transgender prisoners. The ruling partially blocks a 2025 law stripping prisons of funding for gender-affirming healthcare. (GA. 360)
