Cops vs. TikTok; Coastal voter snafu; Repeal Medicaid cuts?; AJC: Trump as popular as ever

(GA. NEWS NETWORK)

*Newnan Police have issued a call to stop a new TikTok trend. The AI and stranger prank involve sending an AI-generated message to one’s parents to convince them someone is inside the house. Police are urging parents to talk with their children about the dangers of doing so. It wastes resources and comes with major safety risks, they say.

*The Chatham County Voter Registration Office reports that some absentee ballots mailed to voters on October 15 are missing. Affected voters received a second ballot on October 22. No word on how many would-be voters are affected.

*U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff wants to repeal Medicaid cuts, which are affecting Georgia’s hospitals. The Democrat told the AJC Monday that the cuts are defunding nursing homes and hospitals, which are sometimes scarce in rural areas. The AJC reports the labor and delivery unit at Saint Mary’s Sacred Heart in Lavonia closed its labor and delivery unit yesterday. The hospital notes that Medicaid cuts solidified the decision to close.

*A new AJC poll shows President Trump is as popular as ever among Georgia Republicans. It shows that 84% of likely GOP voters approve of the way he’s handling things. That’s just about identical the numbers in the paper’s two other polls conducted this year.
