Comedian turned gospel singer Lulu Roman dies

Lulu Roman, the Dove Award-winning country and gospel music singer, comedian, and Hee Haw star has died. gospelmusic.org says Roman passed away Tuesday in Bellingham, Washington, at the age of 78.

Her Dove Awards include:

– 2002 Country Album of the Year—Nominated
– 1992 Country Album of the Year—Nominated
– 1985 Best Album by a Secular Artist—”You” Were Loving Me” (producer Gary McSpadden)—Winner

Roman recorded more than a dozen albums and was inducted into both the Country Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Christian Music Hall of Fame.
