It took Oakwood Police most of the month to sort things out, but a Richmond Hill man, who was stopped by officers April 8 for traffic law violations was finally arrested Tuesday. Willie Hicklen is charged with , giving false information to an officer, brake lights and turn signal violations, driving with a revoked or suspended license, and three counts of I.D. fraud
Oakwood Police spokesman Stuart Webb says the Hicklen saga began late at night at the intersection of Mundy Mill Road and Milton Martin Toyota Way.
“While monitoring traffic, Officers observed a white Chevrolet Avalanche exit onto Milton Martin Toyota Way and turn right onto Mundy Mill Road traveling toward Interstate 985. Officers observed that the vehicle had no functioning driver-side taillight, brake light, or turn signal. Based on the observed equipment violations, Officers initiated a traffic stop.
The driver stated he was not a United States citizen and claimed to be a ‘Thai National traveling in America.’
The driver provided false documentation and refused to identify himself to officers.
Officers were later able to identify the driver as being a ‘Willie Hicklen’ who had multiple active arrest warrants in Georgia.”
He is being held in the Hall County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $5,980.
