The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest has lifted the burn ban that was ordered about a week ago. The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) said Friday visitors may resume campfires and other permitted fire activities in accordance with local regulations and forest guidelines.
The announcement included these fire safety reminders:
Keeping fires small and manageable
Never leaving fires unattended
Fully extinguishing fires before leaving an area
Checking for any additional local fire restrictions
