A Brookhaven man, who was on pretrial release for federal drug trafficking charges in Pittsburgh, faces new federal charges related to his alleged distribution of fentanyl and cocaine in Atlanta. Adam Quincy Rogers was arrested following a traffic stop in Braselton during which, authorities say, they confiscated $100,000 worth of illegal drugs.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE (DOJ) NEWS RELEASE WITH SOME EDITING FOR BREVITY AND CLARITY:
According to U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg and the criminal complaint filed in federal court: Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) were conducting surveillance at an apartment complex in Atlanta last month. They reportedly saw Rogers with a drawstring bag near a vehicle. Later, agents saw Rogers place a duffle bag in the trunk of a different vehicle that had just arrived. After both vehicles left the complex, DeKalb County Police stopped the second vehicle as it was traveling on I-85 in Braselton.
While searching that vehicle, officers found bags like those that Rogers had been carrying. In the bags, DCPD Officers discovered approximately 825 grams of suspected fentanyl powder and five kilograms of cocaine, along with a kilogram press. A kilogram press is used to form drugs into uniform bricks for transportation and distribution. The wholesale street value of the seized drugs was well over $100,000. DEA agents subsequently arrested Rogers.
Rogers is charged him with possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine.”
