(EDITOR’S NOTE: This is the first in a series of special reports looking at back to school in the public schools in Hall County.)
Perhaps no single topic has dominated back to school here so far this year as has a new system of cameras installed on several county school buses for capturing motorists who pass a stopped bus. Earlier this month it was the topic of a discussion on a Community Focus segment on 97.5 Glory FM:
Community Focus: Interview with Clay Hobbs
And on Friday there was this posting from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office:

Several school buses in the Hall County School District are now equipped with an automated camera system to create video documentation of drivers who pass those buses when theyโre stopped.
Hall County Sheriffโs Office deputies will review those videos and issue civil fines to violators
While it may be a civil penalty if you get caught by a bus camera, legislation enacted by the Georgia General Assembly last year (Addyโs Law) puts ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐บ๐๐บ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ $๐ญ,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ.
The message is clear #addyslaw#schoolbuscameras#stoppedschoolbus
