A correctional officer at Lee Arrendale State Prison in Alto has been charged with aggravated battery and violation of oath of office.
habershamnow.com reports that Jay Paramo, 24, Alto, was arrested earlier this week in connection with an incident at the prison in November.
According to the report, quoting an arrest warrant, Paramo is alleged to have injured a prisoner, leaving the prisoner with “severe bruising, swelling, and nasal fractures” during a “hands on use of force” and in violation of his oath of office.
