Another Grammy for Carter; A Ga. DODGE?; 500-year sentence

*Jimmy Carter is a Grammy winner again. The former president received the award Sunday for his audiobook Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration. It marks the fourth Grammy for Carter, who died a month ago.  

*Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones unveils a similar version of President’s Trump’s Elon Musk-run DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) office. Jones says his DOGE would cut waste and red tape. Jones tried to do it last year but no dice in the legislature. It would reset regulations at state agencies.  The latest move at the federal level is the weekend shutdown of USAID (United States Agency for International Development), which is primarily responsible for administering civilian foreign aid and development assistance worldwide.   

*A Paulding County man is heading to prison for a long time for dog fighting crimes. A judge sentenced Vincent Burrell to nearly 500 years for more than 100 counts of dog fighting and animal cruelty. Deputies reportedly found over 100 dogs chained up at a property on Old Cartersville Road in November 2022. There was also a chicken used to entice the dogs.
