After the storms, what’s next?

Now that the latest round of stormy weather in our area is history, what’s next? Well, would you believe record-breaking high temperatures, or the possibility of them. We’ll get to that in a moment. But first, a look back at the weekend storms that stretched into Monday.

Thunderstorm watches and warnings were pretty common over parts of north Georgia during the day Monday and stretching into the evening in some places.

Rainfall at the Gainesville airport didn’t amount to much over the past three days – just about a quarter-of-an-inch. The strongest wind daytime gust recorded at the airport was 36 mph between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. And as late as the 10:00 hour Monday night a gust of 21 mph was noted.

And another round of storms is possible across parts of north and central Georgia
from Wednesday through Friday.

So, what's this about record highs this week?
