Additional charges filed Aug. 20 assault

Additional charges have been filed against Tommy Lee Devin Xaykosy, 28, of Cornelia, following an aggravated assault case that occurred in Chicopee Aug. 20.

On Monday, sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on H Avenue in the Chicopee community to conduct a follow-up investigation on the incident. A woman involved in the original incident lives at the residence. The follow-up was prompted by a request for additional patrols at the home after Xaykosy’s release from the Hall County Jail.

“Deputies determined Xaykosy had made multiple attempts to contact the woman via text and phone call, causing her to fear for the safety of herself and her family,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) spokeswoman B.J. Williams said on Wednesday. “As a result, the woman changed her mind about pursuing charges against Xaykosy for his actions during the incident on Aug. 20.”

Following an interview with the victim and obtaining additional evidence in the case, deputies obtained warrants for aggravated assault, kidnapping and false imprisonment. They also obtained a warrant for pointing a gun at another. Xaykosy was arrested on Tuesday. He remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond.
