*About two dozen demonstrators rallied at the Forsyth County Courthouse Thursday in support of protests against ICE in Minneapolis. It was one of several demonstrations around Georgia Thursday organized by college and high school students.
*Meanwhile, a similar rally is planned in Gainesville Saturday. Organized by The Rainbow Collective, YDG Latino Caucus and Democrats at UNG Gainesville, it will be held at Poultry Park on Jewell Parkway, 1:00-.4:00 to show solidarity with Minneapolis and their demands to shutdown ICE, according to a flyer announcing plans for the demonstration.
*A Flowery Branch man turned himself in this week and was charged with a Dec. 21 burglary on Tree Park Circle in Flowery Branch. Police said that approximately $120 worth of merchandise had been stolen. According to a news release from the Flowery Branch Police Department, Eduardo Ramos, 49, surrendered at the Hall County Jail Tuesday and was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree.
