A bit of Christmas cheer

As Christmas 2025 slowly slips away in the rear-view mirror of life and the thoughts of many turn to the new year which begins Thursday, here’s one more Christmas story – a bit of late Christmas cheer, if you will. It centers around several Hall County sheriff’s deputies and the unusual way their Christmas Day shift started this year.

According to a sheriff’s office Facebook post, the deputies were able to surprise three families with gifts, clothing and toys. School Resource Officers (SROs) recommended two of the families, while deputies knew of the other family because they had responded to a fire at the family home.

“All three of these families really had no money for extras this holiday season,” the post reads. “Our men and women were thrilled to be able to deliver some Christmas spirit to these folks…!”

So, it’s not always a bad sign when a sheriff’s car stops at your house.
