Gainesville Police this morning confirmed that the victim of yesterday’s shooting on the city’s southside is 14 years old and that a car believed involved in the shooting has been located. Capt. Justin Martin also said this morning that the victim, a boy, was in stable condition at the medical center.
“As part of the investigation, detectives tracked a suspect vehicle to an apartment complex in Buford, where the Gwinnett County Police Department assisted with investigative efforts,” Capt. Martin added.
He repeated that investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence. “Information gathered to this point indicates the individuals involved were known to one another and had been involved in a dispute prior to the shooting.”
