Chickens & gold

Looks like the weekend’s shaping up to be just right weatherwise for this weekend’s Gainesville Chicken Festival and Dahlonega’s Gold Rush Days.

The chicken festival is tomorrow at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, featuring 8,000 pounds of freshly cooked chicken.

You’ll get a chance to try some “tried-and-true” recipes, plus some new ones, from professional and amateur pitmasters who, city officials say, know how to prepare award-winning drumsticks, wings, legs, tenders and thighs.

But there’s more to it than just food and more details here: 21st annual Gainesville Chicken Festival set Saturday, Oct. 17, at LLOP • Gainesville, GA

Gold Rush Days are tomorrow and Sunday in the town that birthed the country’s first gold rush: Gold Rush Days Festival – The Official Website of the Famous Dahlonega Gold Rush Days Festival
