For the second time this week, there has been an animal cruelty arrest at the same East Hall address. i
This time it was a 41-year-old woman, Sharon Shehorn, who was arrested after animal control officers responded to a report of a small dog walking in circles in a small outside cage that was full of urine and feces.
Authorities said they arrived at the residence and met with Mrs. Shehorn and during a walk to the rear of the home, an officer discovered a female pit bull mix confined inside a wire crate that was reportedly too small for the animal. Investigators noted the crate contained accumulated animal feces and lacked food, water, and adequate shelter.
According to the report, Mrs. Shehorn told the officer the dog had been living in the crate since approximately August. The animal was observed walking in circles and struggling to find a comfortable position to lie down. Based on the conditions observed, the officer determined the dog was not being provided adequate space, food, water, shelter, or sanitary living conditions.
Mrs. Shehorn was subsequently placed under arrest on animal cruelty-related charges. The investigation also found the dog was not current on its required rabies vaccination, according to the report.
The arrest was made at the same Hasty Acres address as the earlier one and officers said then they would be issuing warrants for another arrest.
