*President Trump is making a return visit to north Georgia in a midterm campaign effort. He’s scheduled to speak at the Dalton Municipal Airport Thursday afternoon in support of Congressman Mike Collins. The Republican candidate for U.S. Senate has trailed Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff by double digits in some polling.

*A death investigation is underway at Six Flags Over Georgia. Cobb County police confirmed yesterday that one person died, and several others were injured in an accident involving a roller coaster. One train on the Goliath coaster stalled and it took several hours to evacuate the riders. A spokesperson for the park offered condolences to the families involved but didn’t go into details concerning exactly what happened.

*Georgia Tech and Emory University are making a major investment in artificial intelligence technology. The two institutions are investing more than one billion dollars in AI infrastructure, including a new supercomputer unveiled on Monday. The investment aims to expand research capabilities, support advances in artificial intelligence, and keep Georgia students learning about this significant technological development in the state.

*The National Weather Service confirms several tornadoes touched down in Georgia over the weekend as remnants of Hurricane Isaias moved through the Southeast. At least three were confirmed in Screven and Bulloch counties, including an EF-1 with winds reaching 105 miles-per-hour. That tornado traveled nearly seven and a half miles, uprooting trees, damaging a mobile home and crushing several vehicles. Another produced winds of 80 miles-per-hour, damaging trees and a garage roof. Meanwhile, a separate tornado damaged several buildings in Burke County near Waynesboro.
