UPDATE: Mule Camp Market to be closed Saturday, open Sunday

UPDATE: POSTED FRIDAY 4:15 P.M. – Due to the current weather forecast and in coordination with local emergency services, the Gainesville Jaycees have decided to close Mule Camp Market Saturday but do play to reopen it Sunday.

“The safety of our guests, vendors, and volunteers is our top priority, and we feel it is in the best interest of everyone to make this decision,” according to a Facebook posting.

weather will pass by then.”

UPDATE: POSTED FRIDAY 1:15 P.M. – Mule Camp Trolley Service canceled as of Saturday due to Hurricane Isaias

The City of Gainesville has canceled Mule Camp Trolley service for Saturday because of expected impacts from Hurricane Isaias.

Forecasts for Gainesville and all of northeast Georgia continued to include a high wind warning and flood watch early Friday afternoon, creating conditions that could make trolley operations unsafe for both passengers and drivers. Officials also noted that worsening weather could disrupt service and prevent reliable transportation throughout the day.

The city continues to monitor weather conditions alongside organizers of the Mule Camp Market. Event host Gainesville Jaycees is also evaluating the storm’s potential impact on attendees, vendors and staff.

Trolley service remains available through 10:30 tonight and is scheduled to resume at noon on Sunday.

City officials said updates regarding trolley service would be posted through the City of Gainesville’s communication channels, while event-specific information would be provided by the Gainesville Jaycees and Mule Camp Market organizers.
