POSTED 10:00 A.M. FRIDAY:
Conditions are expected to deteriorate across north and central Georgia tonight with potentially significant impacts through early Sunday morning.
Strong Winds: A prolonged period of wind gusts of 35–45+ mph (40-50 in Hall and other parts of northeast Georgia) could bring down trees and power lines, resulting in power outages.
Heavy Rain: Widespread rainfall totals of 2–3 inches, with localized amounts up to 5 inches in Gainesville and elsewhere, creating a risk for flash flooding and river flooding.
Tornadoes: Several tornadoes will be possible.
Now is the time to prepare. Secure loose outdoor items, charge electronic devices, and make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather warnings, especially overnight.
