*A lawsuit regarding Georgia’s 2021 congressional maps is returning to a lower court after the state appealed a 2023 ruling by federal District Judge Steven Jones, which found the Republican-backed maps unconstitutional for discriminating against minorities. WSB-TV reported that the appeals court is sending the case back following a U.S. Supreme Court decision that weakened part of the Voting Rights Act.
*State DOT says the intersection of Georgia 32 and 300 in Worth County will be redesigned after years of often fatal crashes. The latest happened Wednesday when two people were killed at the crossroads. Residents and local officials hope a planned roundabout will reduce crashes and improve safety at the intersection.
