*A school shooting in middle Georgia is changing how thousands of students enter their classrooms. Houston County is rolling out weapons detectors at high schools this week, with middle schools scheduled to follow next week. The move comes after a child was shot during a fight in a school bathroom in August. Students must now carry laptops and certain metal items separately through the scanners, and anyone who triggers an alert could face a bag search. Those who refuse screening will be sent home.
