A reassuring word; Another ICE detainee death; Voters residency status challenged; State house candidate arrested

(GA. NEWS NETWORK)

*Georgia’s secretary of state is reassuring voters that their sensitive voter information wasn’t compromised after an AI bot accessed election data. Brad Raffensperger said yesterday that no personalized information was put out, so elections are secure. State officials confirmed over the weekend that a bot accessed publicly available data, but did not get into the voter registration system. The company Anthropic confirmed its AI model accessed data without being asked to do so.

*Another death is being reported from a south Georgia immigrant jail. ICE officials confirmed that 48-year-old Luis Sandoval died after an apparent suicide inside the Folkston ICE processing center on Friday. The AJC reports the death is the fifth reported in Georgia ICE custody since President Trump took office again in January 2025. Two of those detainees were considered to have died from suicide.

*Fulton County is challenging the residency status of 7,000 voters. Any affected residents are receiving corrective letters by mail and will also receive notice on the state’s election pages. Two voters told FOX5 they received notifications, but live at the new Wayfern Apartments on Roswell Road.

*A Cobb County state house candidate is facing criminal charges. Andre Stafford is accused of exposing himself in front of a girl who was walking to a bus stop near Lakes Edge Drive and Hillsdale Parkway earlier this month. He was arrested for child molestation. Stafford is running for House District 42.
