*The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating 14-year-old Kaylin Hughes, who went missing from her home in Augusta over the weekend. Fox 54 is reporting that Hughes was last seen leaving her residence Sunday wearing a black hoodie and camouflage pants, and she was armed with a handgun.
*Towns County Sheriff Kenneth Henderson pleaded guilty Monday to a physical altercation with a local police officer. The plea allows Henderson to avoid jail time. His downfall began with an altercation with and arrest of Hiawassee policeman José Carvajal at a crime scene. Under the plea deal, he was given a 10-year probated sentence, fined a thousand dollars, and agreed never to run for Towns County Sheriff again.
*The list of crimes is long for the man accused in a deadly stabbing along Atlanta’s Beltline. Jonathan Hamby was on probation for an aggravated assault when he allegedly stabbed Ramon Harris to death near Ponce City Market on Sunday, which has many, including Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum, questioning his release. Hamby was convicted of a stabbing along Piedmont Road nine years ago. Mayor Andre Dickens says Hamby has been arrested 30 times, and the 54-year-old’s family says that he has severe mental illness that causes active psychosis.
