*NASA’s Office of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Engagement has selected Georgia Tech to help address a nationwide shortage of technicians. The school was selected because of its relationships with technical colleges, high school programs and aerospace employers, among other things.
*Four people connected to the Savannah Police Department have been arrested and charged by the GBI after being accused of misusing FLOCK cameras. Officials say the arrests followed an internal audit of the Flock Safety System, revealing that they accessed the system for non-law enforcement purposes, according to WTOC.
*Georgia’s loggerhead sea turtle population is increasing. State wildlife officials say a record number of nests have been recorded across the state this year, more than 4,100 of them, surpassing the previous record of 4,071 set in 2022. Wildlife officials say the new record is another sign the state’s loggerhead population is continuing to recover from decades of decline.
