A Barrow County inmate has died after experiencing a medical emergency at the county jail, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials says the prisoner died after being taken to a hospital. No details have been released about the inmate’s identity and authorities have not disclosed why the person was being held.
Sheriff Judd Smith, without releasing any other information, says he has asked the GBI, as a matter of routine in such circumstances, to investigate.
