Regardless of what your lawn and garden may look like and what the latest U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) report says, the drought in Georgia is over, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Little change in Hall Co. drought situation; lake level down
Georgia had been in a drought for nearly a year, with exceptional drought conditions (the worst category) covering at least a third of the state at times.
There are still a few counties with moderate drought conditions, including parts of Hall, Dawson, Lumpkin and White, as we reported Thursday, but the NWS says they do not require ongoing alerts or information statements.
