I’ll just drive; Two more deputies arrested; A World Cup extension; That’s some nasty water

*A new AAA survey finds more Georgians are choosing to drive to their destinations versus flying. The survey found 15 percent of travelers are comparing the cost of driving versus flying more than before. And about 24 percent are choosing destinations where travel costs are more predictable. AAA spokesperson says travelers are taking more deliberate approaches to planning with the increase in costs for air travel.  

*Two more Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies are facing criminal charges for illegally using a license plate reader. The sheriff’s office says Lt. Chris Bryant and Sgt. Mike Creeden were arrested last for using the system for personal reasons. A third deputy was arrested earlier this month.  
 
 *Officials with the FIFA Fan Festival in Atlanta say the event will be extended an extra day. Officials say it’s so fans can watch the U.S. men’s team play Turkey in the group-stage closeout match Thursday night. The USA’s 2-0 win on Friday against Australia advanced the men’s team to the extra game. The festival will open at 6:00 p.m.  

*The city of Douglas is advising the public to avoid contact with water from the Seventeen Mile River following a wastewater spill. City officials say the spill occurred Friday evening. About 50,000 gallons of untreated wastewater were released after rain caused it to back up and spill from a maintenance hole.
