Temperatures through the month of April in Georgia were 3-4 degrees above normal, and rainfall was about 1.5 inches below normal while the numbers for Gainesville were a bit higher. That’s according to the April Climate Summary which was release last week by the National Weather Service (NWS).
The report shows that temperatures in Gainesville were 5.1 degrees higher than average while rainfall was 2.75 inches below normal.
The warmest day of the month was the 17th, when the high at the Gainesville airport reached 87. The wettest was the 25th when .44 inches was recorded, the lowest one-day total for any of the nine reporting stations covered by the NWS office in Peachtree City.
