FCSO: Chase, foot pursuit end in arrest of wanted man

A suspected car thief was arrested recently in Forsyth County, but it wasn’t an easy capture.

It all began, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), when deputy Kenneth Gober tried to stop a car that matched the description of one reported stolen in Gwinnett County and reported entering Forsyth County.

“(Gober) quickly realized that the driver had no intention of stopping,” a news release says. “After a short pursuit, the driver weaving in and out of traffic with no regard for other motorists on the roadway, and Gober losing sight of the car due to the driver turning off his lights, deputies felt it was safer to end the pursuit and the search, for the time being.”

A little while later, deputies received information that the vehicle had crashed and the driver had abandoned it. A civilian waved down deputy Matthew Pittman and reported they saw someone “running up the street, from the vehicle. Within minutes, MD Pittman located the male wearing dirty clothing, running through high grass, and was covered in grass and briars from hiding.” A wallet with his identification was later found between the crashed vehicle and where Pittman captured him. He was identified as 21-year-old Isaac Davis.

“Other items usually used during a robbery were found in his possession including a loaded gun.”
