The past week brought with it more hot, dry weather in Georgia and only worsened the drought.
In fact, all of Hall County except small areas to the northern, southeastern, and western county lines are now considered “extremely dry” by the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM). Those are classified as “severely dry,” meaning “less dry” than the other parts.
The southern half of the state is still experiencing the worst conditions, mostly “extreme” and growing, and also the most serious, “exceptional,” which also expanding in area.
The level of Lake Lanier? Down three-tenths-of-a-foot to1066.0 this week.
