*Georgia taxpayers will soon be getting a rebate. The governor’s tax rebate plan has been passed in both houses of the state legislature and will soon be signed. Gov. Kemp made the promise of a one-billion-dollar tax rebate in his January State of State address. That breaks down to $250 for single filers and $500 for those filing jointly.
*Long security lines continue at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport as the partial government shutdown continues. This comes as the Spring Break travel season begins. Ten airline CEOs are asking Congress to pay TSA workers during the shutdown. NBC’s Tom Costello reports the request comes as TSA officers missed their first full paycheck last Friday. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says nearly 300 TSA agents have quit their jobs since the shutdown began.
*State Senator Nabilah Parkes, representing Duluth and Peachtree Corners, has resigned to focus on her primary campaign for Lieutenant Governor. Parkes, a Democrat from Duluth, was serving her second term in the state Senate. There are two other candidates seeking the Democratic nomination, while there are seven Republican candidates.
