Sugar Hill group to explore ‘the mysteries of Lake Lanier’

It’s the Sugar Hill Historic Preservation Society and as part of its 2023 speaker series will present a free discussion titled “The Mysteries of Lake Lanier” at 6:00 Oct. 25 at the town’s 39th Street Station.

The group already boasts a lot of historical information on the planning, construction, impact and myths surrounding Buford Dam and Lake Lanier.

The Oct. 25 event will explore the real-life tragedy and perhaps the ghost story of the Lady of the Lake, which details a traffic accident in 1958 when two women’s car plunged into the lake from a Dawsonville Highway bridge.
