*Gov. Brian Kemp isn’t rushing to suspend the state gas tax. Kemp said Tuesday he doesn’t want to overreact to things that could be short-term. The statewide average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is more than 60 cents more than what it was at the beginning of the month.
*Two GOP candidates battling for governor may soon be battling in court as well. Frontrunner Rick Jackson has filed a lawsuit against Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, claiming defamation after campaign ads for Jones claimed that Jackson Healthcare has connected physicians with facilities performing transgender treatments and also helping to staff Planned Parenthood facilities. Jackson says the claims are not true and go against his religious beliefs. However, Atlanta News First reports the Jones campaign is continuing the ads. The amount of damages Jackson is asking for has not disclosed.
*A teen is facing charges connected to a deadly wreck in Duluth. Gwinnett County police say a driver lost control of his car while he and the suspect were racing on Breckenridge Boulevard Monday night. The car flew off the road and into a tree near New Point Place, which killed him at the scene. Officers charged the second driver with vehicular homicide.
