HCSO: Woman suffers severe burns during domestic incident

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“The Hall County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Gainesville man with aggravated battery and other offenses after a woman suffered burns to her back in a domestic incident earlier this week near Gainesville.

Deputies responded to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9. They met with the female victim, 38, who was being treated for burns she suffered at a residence in the 1200 block of Martin Drive off Athens Street.

According to the preliminary investigation, the victim and suspect, Isaac Graves, 34, were arguing at the residence they shared. When the victim tried to leave, Graves jumped in front of her at the door and blocked her. He then pushed her, causing her to fall onto a propane heater. She suffered severe burns to her lower back. When Graves turned away, she ran from the residence to a nearby gas station, where an employee called 911 for help. The incident happened between 9 and 10 p.m.

Deputies obtained warrants for Graves’ arrest on felony charges of aggravated battery under the Family Violence Act and false imprisonment, as well as a misdemeanor charge of simple battery under the Family Violence Act.

Deputies’ attempts to find Graves on the night of the crime were unsuccessful. HCSO Warrant Service Unit deputies arrested him at the Martin Drive residence Tuesday morning, Feb. 10 and took him to the Hall County Jail, where he is being held without bond.”
