*A 35-year-old Flowery Branch man was injured Sunday when he was thrown from a four-wheeler he was riding in a new construction area in the 4600 block of Winder Highway. “A med unit was on the scene by the time our deputy arrived,” a sheriff’s office spokeswoman says. The man was taken to the Gainesville hospital, his condition unknown at last check.
*A 28-year-old Flowery Branch man was arrested over the weekend and charged in connection with a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident in North Hall. “There were no reported injuries,” a sheriff’s office spokesman wrote in an email Monday morning. “The crash happened on Friday afternoon (roughly 5:30 p.m.) at GA 60/Thompson Bridge Road and Old Dahlonega Highway. Deputies who worked the accident were later able to identify (28-year-old Aaron) Chastain as the suspect who fled. They arrested him Saturday morning at his residence on Old Flowery Branch Road (Flowery Branch).” He was charged with failure to yield and hit-and-run.
*No one was injured in a Friday afternoon two-vehicle rear-end rush-hour accident on I-985 near the Queen City Parkway exit. It happened about 5:00. One of the drivers, an 18-year-old Gainesville woman, was cited for following too closely.
*Gainesville Police have charged a 30-year-old man with loitering or prowling, nude or sexually explicit electronic transmissions, battery, resisting arrest and probation violation. He was arrested late Saturday night. In addition, in a separate case, a 49-year-old woman, who was arrested Saturday afternoon, has been charged with theft by taking and exploit/inflict pain/deprive disabled/elderly resident.
