*More people are moving into Georgia than moving out. Census data released this week shows that more than 265-thousand people came across state lines to live in Georgia during 2024. That compares to the nearly 230,000 who left, making it a net gain of around 35000. California had the worst loss differential by far.

*The Georgia State Patrol is competing with ICE for officers, according to the head of the GSP.  Colonel Billy Hitchens, says the federal agency has poached several state troopers this year, affecting road trooper hiring. Hitchens says a hefty $50,000 signing bonus, plus pay and benefits, is luring officers to make the switch to the federal agency. He adds that GSP currently has 864 troopers, and 80 are in training.

*Atlanta is launching a second e-bike rebate program to help qualified applicants save over $1,000 on purchases and support local businesses. Fox 5 Atlanta reports the first program helped nearly 1,000 residents receive e-bike rebates, focusing on low- to moderate-income individuals. If approved, the new program will start later this year.
